Who We Are

GirlTalk NC is an organization meant to empower young women of all races and ages to meet their goals and reach for a higher education. Not only are we here to support our young women, but we are also motivated to mentor young women and create a safe space where all ideas are welcome.

Our History

How we started

GirlTalk NC has grown from a school project in 2016. The founder, Shareen El Naga, was a part of a public policy group that focused on the support of women's education, and she found a deeper passion in supporting and encouraging the young women of our world to be successful and powerful. In 2016, we attended the Duke Wiser Conference, What Matters Conference, and found ways to better our community and give back to Hurricane Matthew victims. We do not only strive to make a difference in the North Carolina Education system, but also worldwide.
