Our Mission Statement

Committed to Making a Difference

Our mission in ‘Girl Talk’ is to empower females of all races and ages who are currently in school to meet their goals and reach for a higher education. We want to lower the female dropout rate and spread awareness of the 62 million girls who are not able to receive an education each year. Our group will come together to support, enlighten, and ultimately understand the hardships that go hand in hand with being a female and a student. Together we can change the school system; together we can change the world.
One of our most critical goals for this group is to provide mentoring/support to any female student who needs it. By holding meetings where any female (regardless of grade) can meet and speak their minds in a supportive and judge-free environment, we would be encouraging each other to come up with solutions to a myriad of issues we face throughout high school.
We all have experiences that set us apart from one another and we are willing to share with others in order to build trust, relationships, and memories. We want to talk about our lives and our passions in order to understand and support others who share or have shared similar stories.
Another aspect of this group is our audience. Our ideal member is a female who can listen, relate, understand, and speak out; also, someone who can advocate our topics and goals would be critical for our success. Any female is welcome to come and discuss any hardships or issues that they may be facing in their life at home and/or at Enloe. The greatest aspect with regard to this group is that anyone can contribute as long as they are willing to be open and honest!
The issue of a declining quality in education for female students in our community can be changed; not by congress or lawmakers, or by administrators or counselors, but by peers and fellow students. The greatest difference will come from within the student body population and we know that it is our job to help those who are under advantaged in our school system. We will strive to mentor for today, motivate for tomorrow, and to make memories for a lifetime for anyone who partakes in our journey to a brighter future.
